Ocean Ranger One  was born out of Paul's work as a teacher, where he found that a good story was a really powerful 'hook' on which to hang some good teaching and learning. He knew he was on to something when his class of eleven year olds kept nagging him to finish writing the next chapter!

 

The story has been used for work in literacy (news reports, biographies, formal letter writing, writing play scripts and poetry), science (basic chemistry, food chains, water pressure) and maths (night duty rota investigation and 3 figure bearings). In addition, work has been undertaken in geography (atlas work, tectonics, environmental studies), PSHE (globalisation and sustainability) and religious education (Islam). There is even the opportunity for a bit of French thrown in.
